2026 Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance Summit
Join us on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Hilderbrand Equine Center (3240 F&B Road, College Station, TX 77843) for a dynamic half-day event exploring how artificial intelligence and data science are transforming sports medicine and human performance research.
The Summit will feature a Huffines Spotlight Session showcasing cutting-edge research, technology, and facilities from Texas A&M faculty, a complimentary buffet lunch and graduate student poster presentations, and the 2026 Hilliard Distinguished Lecture in Human Performance, delivered by Dr. Reuben F. Burch V, Vice Provost for Research and Professor of Engineering at Texas Christian University.

Dr. Ruben Burch, Vice President of Research and Professor of Engineering from Baylor University will give our keynote lecture. The topic of the event this year will be Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science to Transform Sports Medicine and Human Performance. The event will also feature several TAMU faculty members who will present their impressive research related to AI and human performance. An exciting seminar is coming up this Friday!
Dr. Brian Garner from Baylor University will discuss his research on simulated equine motion therapy to improve gait and balance in older adults. He's developed a patented mechanical horse-riding simulator and studied its applications with various groups.
